Armed Robbery, North Belfast

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a video rental shop on the Antrim Road in Belfast this afternoon, Thursday 18 February.

Two males approached the premises shortly before opening at midday.  The pair waited until the store opened then entered and made their way to the games section.  After a few minutes one of the males approached a female shop assistant and produced a gun before demanding money from the tills.

The shop assistant handed over a small sum of cash and the robbers made off on foot countrywards along the Antrim Road.

The robber armed with the handgun is described as approx 5' 2" in height, around 16 years old of a slim build with short brown hair and a freckled complexion.  He was wearing a black hoody and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

The other is described as approx 5' 2" in height, also around 16 years old of a slim build with fair hair.  He was wearing a black hoody.
