Attempted Paramilitary assault, Havana Way, North Belfast
20 May 2011
Police in Tennent Street are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted Paramilitary style assault in North Belfast, in the early hours of Friday 20 May.
At approximately 00.25am, up to four masked and gloved men forced their way into a house in the Havana Way area. One was armed with what is believed to have been an iron bar. After searching the house, the men left without any assault taking place.
It is believed that this could be linked to another incident in the Jamaica Road area of North Belfast. At approximately 00:20am, at least one masked man attempted to gain entry to a house but was unsuccessful.
Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to contact Detectives in Tennent Street on 0845 600 8000. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
