Police release CCTV images - Belfast
04 July 2012
Police in South and East Belfast are keen to identify and speak to the following people to further investigations into a range of criminal offences that have taken place in the city over the course of the last year.
Police have previously released images of individuals that they are keen to speak to in relation to incidents, and this process has assisted in people being identified, arrests being made and people being brought before the courts.
Crime Manager for South and East Belfast Chief Inspector Rachel Shields explains: “In January, we issued images of people that we were keen to speak to in relation to public disorder in East Belfast in June 2011. As a result, we arrested two individuals in relation to riot offences. This incident provides a clear example of how the community are willing to support police and assist in our investigations. The end result is a safer city for everyone.
“The publication of images, is not only about identifying people that we would like to speak to, it is part of a wider strategy we have in place to enhance community safety. We want people, who may be socialising or shopping in Belfast to be aware, of the risks associated with acting in a particular way – if you opt to get involved in fights or altercations, or if you believe that you can steal from businesses, be aware you are taking a path that will ultimately lead you to court. Where persistent offenders are identified then we will not hesitate to take action.”
If you can identify any of the individuals in any of the images, please contact Police Call Management on 0845 600 8000.
