D DISTRICT – Hijacking, Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus

Police are investigating a hijacking in the area of the Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus on the evening of Sunday 27th May.At around 10.40pm, the female driver of a green Renault Scenic was approached by two unknown males dressed in dark clothing and wearing dark hats. One of the men stepped out in front of her and the second opened the door of her car and dragged her out before making off in the vehicle. The car was found on fire a short time later in the Loughmourne Road area of Carrickfergus.
Anyone who witnessed the hijacking or who has any information is asked to contact CID in Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
