G DISTRICT - Robbery, Racecourse Road, Foyle

Detectives in Foyle are appealing for information after a report of an armed robbery at the Racecourse Road, Shantallow area this morning (Monday, 20th February).
Shortly before 10:40am, it was reported that two males approached the driver of the van in the area, with one man armed with a suspected firearm. The male was believed to have been threatened and a sum of money taken. Both men left the scene towards the Carnhill area after the incident. No one is believed to have been injured during the incident and enquiries are continuing.
One male is described as 5"4 tall, slim build and wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and white trainers. The second male is described as carrying a red bag, wearing white trainers, dark jeans, a dark grey jumper or fleece, red scarf and grey beanie hat.
A short time afterwards, detectives investigating the incident recovered a large sum of money in the Carnhill area.
