H DISTRICT - Search for missing Ballymena man continues, Glenarm

05 Jan 2012

Police are today continuing the search for 49 year old Samuel Campbell, who has been missing since he left his Ballymena home on Sunday afternoon (1 January). His bicycle was discovered in a coastal area close to Glenarm on Tuesday evening (3 January).

Detective Inspector Bob Blemmings, who is leading the investigation, explained that searches are currently focused in the coastal area between Ballygally Head and Garron Point. Police and the Coastguard are involved in the search today.

Detective Inspector Blemmings said: "We are still appealing for members of the public who may have seen Samuel in the Coast Road area of Glenarm on Sunday afternoon or who may have any information that could assist with our enquiries, to contact police on 0845 600 8000.

"When last seen out cycling near his home in Kells, Samuel was wearing a red top with the letters T.C.G. on it and long black leggings. He is around six foot tall, of a slim build with short dark hair."

"I would also ask that anyone who was cycling in the coastal area on Sunday 1 or Monday 2 January and wearing similar clothing to that which Samuel was last seen wearing, to please contact police so we can eliminate them from our inquiries."

DI Blemmings added: "I'm very grateful to members of the community for their response to the appeal for information so far."
