Heating oil theft charges, Ballyclare

A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted burglary, going equipped and theft.

A 18-year-old man has been charged with going equipped, attempted burglary, possession of a class 'B' controlled drug and theft.

Both men are expected to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court on Tuesday 1 February.

A man aged in his 20s has been charged with burglary with intent, going equipped and attempted burglary.

He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday 8 January.

As is normal procedure, the charges are subject to review by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges relate to an incident in Ballyclare on the evening of Wednesday 5 January, when heating oil was stolen from a domestic tank belonging to a house at Rashee Road.

Police on patrol in the area noted a suspicious vehicle and carried out enquiries. Two arrests were made nearby.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested a result of a search of a house at Glenville Park, Newtownabbey, on the morning of Friday 7 January.

The charges also relate to the attempted burglary of a house at Cherryburn Road, Templepatrick, the previous evening.
