Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice Department exists to support the organisation through the effective management of community safety services (e.g. hate crime, youth justice, neighbourhood watch), criminal legislation, and justice development and policy.  Criminal Justice also has responsibility for overseeing Policing with the Community and within this remit the Department supports District Commanders in developing Neighbourhood Policing.  Much of the work of the Criminal Justice Department is developed in partnership with other organisations and agencies – such as the Government, District Policing Partnerships, Health Trusts and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
