Performance
The Performance unit monitors the Police Service's performance against objectives, indicators and targets set by the Northern Ireland Policing Board in the Annual Policing Plan. The unit also helps Districts prepare their performance reports to local District Policing Partnerships.
Risk Management
The Risk Management unit promotes effective risk management. This helps establish robust corporate governance arrangements and ensures that the Police Service safeguards its resources adequately.
Risk management is an essential part of good management and creates a shared awareness and understanding within an organisation of:
- The nature and extent of the risks it faces
- The extent and categories of risks regarded as acceptable
- The likelihood and potential impact of the risks happening
- Its ability to manage risks
Business Continuity Management
Failure to deliver critical functions could have a catastrophic effect on the communities of Northern Ireland. An effective Business Continuity Management programme ensures that the Service can continue to provide critical activities and withstand any form of disruption.
Business Continuity Management is a planning process that creates a fit for purpose operational, tactical and strategic framework to minimise the impact of a disruption to critical activities.
