Assistant Chief Constable Drew Harris

Drew started his career as a Constable in 1983 serving in beat and patrol officer postings in Belfast, Banbridge and Armagh.  In 1996, he was promoted to Chief Inspector and in 2000, to Superintendent.

In 2002, he completed a two-year secondment to Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary, Scotland, to the rank of Superintendent.

Mr Harris returned to occupy the role of District Commander in Craigavon prior to his appointment as Assistant Chief Constable in February 2006.

As Assistant Chief Constable for Crime Operations Department he is responsible for Organised Crime, Major Investigation Teams, Intelligence Branch, Special Operation Branch, Analyst Branch, Scientific Support Branch, Serious Crime Review Team, E-Crime and Central Authorisation Bureau.  In addition, he also holds the ACPO Hate Crime Portfolio.

Mr Harris has a BA (Hons) Degree in Politics and Economics (Open University) and M.St in Criminology (Cantab).  He completed the Strategic Command Course in 2004 and the Leadership in International Counter Terrorism Course in 2005.
