Ms Donna Scott

Donna Scott was appointed Head of Legal Services for the Police Service in September 2007.  She oversees the department that is responsible for providing legal advice on human rights, general policing matters, inquests, judicial review and civil litigation.

Donna’s legal career initially started in a private practice.  After several years in this environment, Donna moved to join the Directorate of Legal Services at Central Services Agency as a defence lawyer for the Health Service in Northern Ireland, specialising in the defence of clinical negligence claims.

In 2000, she was appointed Assistant Director and was a member of the Senior Management Team with responsibility for teams of lawyers working in the areas of clinical negligence, litigation and employment law.  During her time with the Health Service she was involved in advising Health Service bodies in relation to several high profile inquiries.

Donna holds an Honours degree in law from Queen’s University, Belfast.
