Assistant Chief Constable Will Kerr – District Policing Urban

Assistant Chief Constable Will KerrACC Will Kerr is responsible for District Policing Urban which covers an area of 2,943 square kilometres and a population of 890,300. This is delivered through 4 District Command Units each led by a Chief Superintendent.

ACC Kerr has 20 years policing experience in a range of operational roles across Northern Ireland. ACC Kerr was the Head of Criminal Justice Department before his move to District Policing and prior to promotion he was Head of the Police College. ACC Kerr was also the District Commander in H District (North East) and Newtownabbey District Command Unit. He has also worked as a Senior Investigating Officer in Belfast where he led on a number of high profile murder and other serious crime investigations.

He holds a B.A (Hons) in Social Science, MSc in Criminology, LLM in Human Rights Law, as well as a number of other post-graduate and teaching qualifications. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
