Safety Camera Scheme
The Northern Ireland Safety Camera Scheme was launched on 1 July 2003. The scheme aims to change drivers' attitudes towards speeding and to reduce the number of road traffic casualties through targeted speed detection at locations with a history of injury collisions.
Currently, there are 62 permanently signed locations at which the mobile speed camera vans can deploy, 4 fixed speed cameras, 1 average speed SPECs system and 6 red light running cameras.
