Community Surgeries

Neighbourhood Officers carry out a number of Community Surgeries every month on the street, in local businesses and in other public places within Pottinger area.  This is another opportunity for you to speak to us and make us aware of any issues or concerns you might have in your area.  Officers will have Listen and Respond cards for you to take away and send back to us.

Belfast Outcomes Group - Consultation Document

The Belfast Outcomes Group is a multiagency grouping comprising a range of statutory agencies, along with the .Community and Voluntary Sectors. It is part of the Children and Young Peoples Strategic Partnership and will contribute to the Northern Ireland Children and Young Peoples Plan 2011 - 14. There have been concerns raised around UnderageDrinking in various locations

Pottinger Neighbourhood team have participated in Joint Operations with East Belfast Alternatives and Belfast City Council . They have spoken to several youths under the influence of alcohol and returned them to the care of their parents. Several persons have also been reported for breach of council by-laws, for 'Street Drinking'.

There have been complaints re ASB and Criminal Damage in Orangefield ParkAdditional Patrols have been in place over the weekends to try and prevent further incidents and provide reassurance to residents in the area.


Residents have expressed concerns re rogue traders cold calling in the Orby Drive area

Police have been giving additional attention to the area including leaflet drops providing information, crime preventions advice and contact details for Police, should residents see any suspicious behaviour.



                                                              Pottinger PACT - Police and Communities Together

Thursday the 23rd of February saw the first public meeting of "Pottinger PACT". The meeting at Willowfield Parish Church was well attended and it was agreed that for a period of 6 months Mr Mark Houston would Chair the meetings assisted by Mr Andy Moorehead, Vice Chair.

The next meeting of PACT will take place on Thursday 21st June 2012 at 7.00pm. The venue will be Willowfield Parish Church. We would welcome All persons from the Community within Pottinger area.

If you are interested in initiating a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your area, please contact Sergeant Neale Baker who will be happy to meet and discuss any aspect of Neighbourhood Watch with you.

Among the successful neighbourhood watch schemes are:

My Lady’s Road, Shamrock Place, Nettlefield, Abetta, Glenhoy / Dunraven, Langtry Court, Ardenlee Parade and Halcombe Street

East Belfast District Policing Partnership

District Policing Partnerships have been replaced with Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) with effect from 1st April 2012.  Information regarding the PCSP will be updated as it becomes available.
