Ards

Chief Inspector Philip Knox is the Area Commander for Ards. He is based in Newtownards and commands the Ards area which is divided into 3 neighbourhood policing teams and the area response team.
Chief Inspector Knox has 18 years police experience. Prior to taking up the post of Ards Area Commander he was attached to Command Secretariat in Police Headquarters and was responsible for Government Liaison. He states: "It is my role to ensure maximum benefit from the resources at my disposal. My officers, staff and I are committed to working in partnership with the community, other statutory agencies including Ards Borough Council and also many voluntary and community groups in order to deliver a visible, responsive and personal service. I firmly believe that by working together we can bring about a safer environment for everyone living, working and socialising in the Ards area."
