Ards Area Response Team
The Response Team at Ards provides round the clock cover across the entire Ards Area for the full range of calls and other police duties. The primary role of the team is to deal with emergency calls and other calls for police service. Some of these calls may later be referred to neighbourhood teams for progression. Response officers generally deal with around 80% of all calls from the public such as: assaults, domestic disputes, road traffic collisions and serious incidents. Response officers are routinely deployed in proactive operations to support the local policing plan aimed at tackling crime, anti-social behaviour and enforcing legislation to help keep our roads safe.
Inspector James Ellson is responsible for the 5 response sections who are based at Ards station. Each section has around 10 officers and is managed by a Sergeant.
