Anti Social Behaviour

Residents of Lakeview/Orchard Hill say they are concerned about anti social behaviour.  We said that we would increase patrols in the area, encourage people to report incidents, and organise a public meeting to let residents know what we can do and how they can assist police.

In relation to ongoing Anti Social Behaviour in Crumlin Main Street, Crumlin Glen.  Police Neighbourhood foot patrols were increased in hot spots.  Encouraged public to report areas of concern.  Proactive measures in relation to person involved.  Proactive alcohol seizure policy within the sector.

Residents of St James Meadow, Crumlin say they are concerned about youths causing annoyance.  A leaflet drop was carried out in the area, including 'Do you know where your child is', highlighting the issue to parents.  More attention paid by the NPT team.

After ongoing ASB in the Cidercourt Road area concerns were raised by the local community and their representatives about the level of reporting.  A leaflet drop was carried out in the area requesting residents help their neighbours, and to report ASB when it is happening.  High visibility foot patrols of area at key times to reduce the problem.

There is an increasing problem with anti social behaviour in Crumlin town.  We commenced an inter agency group targeting anti social behaviour in the Crumlin area, involving community safety, Antrim Borough Council, Housing Executive, Youth Services, Department of Regional Development and elected members.

Crumlin NPT worked three late weekends in succession concentrating on Crumlin and anti social behaviour, causing reports of anti social behaviour to drop significantly.


Burglary

Elderly residents in the Landgarve Manor area of Crumlin are concerned about distraction burglaries in the Crumlin area.  Crumlin NPT carried out a leaflet drop in the area, using the 'Quick Check' leaflet identifying preventive measures against distraction burglaries.

There has been a creeper burglary in Laurelvale, Crumlin.  A burglary information leaflet drop incorporating information on creeper burglaries was carried out in Laurelvale Crumlin on the 17th December 2011

Crumlin NPT carried out a anti-burglary leaflet drop in Landgarve and Lakeview areas of Crumlin.  Leaflet above refers.


Theft of Life RingsProactively patrolled the Crumlin Glen car park area during targeted times.  Arranged with partners to locate cameras in area.  Identified youths involved with the result one person has been charged.

Parking Problems

Attention paid to parking problems at Straidhavern Primary School during targeted times.  Consulted with school in relation to actions to reduce problem.  Carried out leaflet operation with motorists in the area at dropping off times.

Drumsilly MarketCrumlin and Antrim NPT performed a joint Operation at Drumsilly market resulting in the seizure of £25,000 of counterfeit goods.

British RoadThere is a problem of large vehicles using the British Road, which has a 7.5 tonne weight limit. Over the period of a week Crumlin NPT concentrated on this road at targeted times to alleviate this problem.

Speeding within the Town

Ongoing high visibility NPT laser ops to encourage motorists to slow down.  Roads Policing Unit tasked to problem areas.

Speeding on the Nutts Corner Road

There is a problem of speeding on the Nutts Corner road coming out of Crumlin. Crumlin NPT carried out laser operations on a number of occasions on this road to identify if there is a problem. The road is quite narrow at this point and vehicles do appear to be travelling quickly, however the limit is 60 mph and no vehicles were detected.

Speeding on the Mill RoadThere is an ongoing problem of vehicles speeding on the Mill Road on the approach to Crumlin Integrated Primary School as children are crossing the road to board buses. Crumlin NPT continue to carry out high profile speed detection operations on Mill road at highlighted times to alleviate this problem.
