D District Public Protection Unit
The Public Protection Unit D District encompasses three units, the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, the Domestic Abuse Unit and the Offender Management Unit.
- The Child Abuse Investigation Unit works closely with social services that investigate all incidents of child abuse.
- The Domestic Abuse Unit provides support to victims of domestic abuse and investigates cases involving serious offences and repeat victimisation.
- The Offender Management Unit performs visits and assessments in accordance with the Public Protection Arrangements Northern Ireland.
The Public Protection Unit is also supported by a Vulnerable Adult referral officer, who ensures cases are investigated in accordance with the Regional Adult Protection Policy, and a missing person's officer who ensures all missing person's investigations are progressed.
