Lisburn City

Lisburn City Neighbourhood team is managed by Inspector Nigel Rowland, based at Lisburn Police station. The team is responsible for policing Lisburn City Centre and all commercial and residential areas in close proximity. The sector is divided into two teams. The North Team has responsibility for Lisburn City Centre, Ballymacoss, Antrim Road and Lambeg.  The South Team covers the areas of Hilden, Old Warren and Knockmore.

Finch Gardens SurgeryConstable Cunningham has attended two surgeries during October and November in the Finch Gardens Community house.  Representatives from Oaklee Housing Association have been in attendance.  Residents have raised issues in concern to anti social behaviour at the rear of the development and in the adjoining new building site.  A number of residents have attended to show support for the surgery and took advantage of a free coffee.  Please contact Constable Cunningham for future monthly Surgery dates.

Issues in Knockmore Area
The District Policing Partnership held a public meeting on 24th November in Knockmore.  Issues discussed included Anti Social Behaviour and Drug issues.  Anyone with issues are requested to contact their local Neighbourhood officer Constable McKevitt and Constable Thompson.

Manor Park
Constable McKevitt and Constable Thompson attend surgery's in Manor Park Community Flat once a month on Friday between 2pm - 3pm.  If you have any issues that you want to discuss with them please contact them or Manor Park Community Association.

Safe and Well Project

Lisburn NPT are actively involved with the South Eastern Health and Social Care trust programme for those socially isolated older people 65 years and over, living in the down and Lisburn areas.  Safe and Well

Anti Social Behaviour

In relation to ongoing ASB in Tirowen Drive a meeting was held with Neighbourhood Officers, residents and Fold Housing and the attached Safety Notice was delivered to residents.  Safety Notice

In relation to ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour in Knockmore estate the attached leaflet was delivered to residents.  South West

In relation to ongoing issues of anti social behaviour in Iniscarn area, Causeway End Road, Police held a public meeting on Thursday 10th November on the Causeway End Road.  Approximately 70 residents attended the public meeting to discuss the ongoing issues.  Police have completed a leaflet drop in the area and are increasing patrols.  Iniscarn Close

On 7th February 2012 Lisburn NPT attended the Drummard Interagency meeting.  An issue raised referred to Anti Social Behaviour on the grounds of a local church.  Lisburn NPT have included this area within their patrol pattern.  Local residents are asked to contact Constable Curran and Constable White, the local Neighbourhood officers, should they have any further concerns in the area.

On 21 February 2012 Lisburn NPT attended the Harmony HIll Interagency meeting.  An issue raised referred to Anti Social Behaviour and young people drinking at several derelict properties in the area.  Lisburn NPT have included this area within their patrol pattern.  Local residents are asked to contact Constable Cunningham and Constable McClughan, the local Neighbourhood officers, should they have any further concerns in the area.


Excess Speed

Community Associations have reported speeding issues within their communities.

Lisburn City Neighbourhood have deployed both the electronic message warning device and the Speed Indicator Device within communities in the Lisburn City area. The electronic message gives advice regarding the dangers of speeding, careless driving and inappropiate use of mobile telephones when driving.

The Speed Indicator Device indicates a motorists speed as they approach the device.

In addition to preventative and education advice Lisburn Neighbourhood officers and Roads Policing Unit continue to perform enforcement speed detection operations within community areas.


BurglaryAs a result of a number of burglaries in Lisburn City area the Police Message Display is being used to encourage the community to ensure that their properties are left secure.  Home Security Leaflets have been distributed in Nettlehill Road area, Benson Street area, Innisfayle Road/Park and Wyncroft Crescent, Lisburn.


Drugs Activity

At a District Policing Partnership meeting held in November 2011 a number of concerned parents and community representatives recently raised the issue of drug abuse by adults and young persons in the Knockmore area.  Lisburn City NPT have conducted additional patrols in the area at key times and increased our drug search activity.  This has resulted in both drug seizures and persons subsequently arrested for drug activity offences.
