| Banbridge Road Area | Following complaints of vandalism, litter, grafitti and general nuisance from residents of Banbridge Road, Police have embarked on a diversion initiative to offset the claim made by young offenders that 'there is nothing to do in Dromore'. Dromore NPT are working with REACT and Fresh Oil Ministries who have provided premises for a music and drama performance venue, with the intention of holding regular performance nights where young people can go to perform, watch, listen or learn in a supervised, alcohol-free environment away from the streets. To date two separate groups of young people have recorded their music, one group directed and produced a video on anti-social behaviour, and the recommencement of the 'Blue Light' disco on a regular basis is being discussed |
| Kinallen and Dromore Area | Following multiple complaints from residents of Kinallen and Dromore concerning animal cruelty and neglect against horses and dogs a number of persons have been spoken to and given advice, with more serious cases being referred to the Dog Warden or the USPCA. Enquiries and inspections have led to some dogs being rescued from their owners, whilst in another case a seriously neglected horse is being inspected monthly by a local Vet through the assistance of a local Horse Sanctuary. All reported incidents are inspected firstly by Police Officers and then specialist agencies if required. |
| Be Safe be Secure | Police in Dromore have been involved in distributing leaflets to the public on how to be aware of Home Safety. A copy is available by click on the link Home Safety |
| Speeding motorists in Kinallen village | Regular high-profile laser speed checks at priority times especially school starting or leaving times. Complaints analysed to identify particular times and attention given. |
| Anti-Social Behaviour, Dromore Park and Viaduct | High-visibility patrols at problem times, zero tolerance on alcohol and disorderly behaviour. All reports responded to and those present noted, even if no offence detected, with parents being informed by letter. Repeat offenders identified. Workshops and Youth Groups used to provide alternative activities. |
| Underage Drinking | Close liaison with Licensees and shops, education and enforcement, regular patrols of problem areas. Likely offenders identified and details circulated; likewise habitual haunts identified and regular attention given. Liaison with workshops to educate and deter. |
