Station Opening Hours: This station is not open to the public.

Brownlow was designed as the ‘New City’. It was part Of Prime Minister O’Neill’s vision of a modern Northern Ireland and a product of the 1960’s era of town planning, which includes recreation zones, mixed housing, cycle paths and roundabouts. Black paths interlink the area and a person can travel from one end to the other without using a road. More recently Brownlow has a large number of integrated housing estates and new build developments, all of which are owner occupied, private rentals or housing executive. It incorporates several schools, and a number of places of worship. It has its own health centre, library and recreation centres and has one of the province’s biggest retail shopping centres in Rushmere. There are also minor shopping centres at Drumgor, Tullygally and Moyraverty.

Local Priorities

You said We did
The issue of anti social behaviour, although significantly reduced, was still causing some concern particularly on the black paths, underpasses and in the Drumgor and Aldervale areas. We continue to patrol these areas however there is very little evidence of alcohol consumed on the black paths. There are times when the young people are congregating and the behaviour wouldn’t be defined as ASB however local community are concerned about there presence. This highlights the impact of the fear of crime on the victim.
Speed / traffic concerns Bleary specifically convenient to local schools at busy periods. We have deployed the Laser which has had the desired effect to deter/educate speeders from these key areas where our young people are potentially most vulnerable.
A couple of reports of scramblers re-emerging around lakes, black paths and waste ground. Police continue to patrol these areas although to date no one has been caught on these machines since the new reports.
