We Did

Improved access to PoliceAt a recent meeting with Crossmaglen Community Association police discussed ongoing issues and future plans regarding Anti Social Behaviour and the Number of burglaries in the area.  Significant work had been undertaken in relation to ASB and the community agreed that there had been an improvement.  Sector Commander discussed plans to address burglaries. Further meetings to be held on a quarterly basis please contact any member of the team for details.

DrugsWith your help during the past 3 x months, Police in South Armagh have conducted 10 planned search operations resulting in the seizure of cannabis and methadone.

Anti Social Behaviour

Increased Hi-visibility mobile and beat patrols performed by NPT. Working in partnership with stakeholders and community representatives in the Cloughreagh area, vacant houses used for ASB by young people were secured by property owners.

Local young people were engaged by police regarding damage to property and the effect of youth nuisance behaviour on elderly / vulnerable residents and the wider community.

Crime prevention / Neighbourhood Watch information evening held with local community representatives.

Safer Roads

Officers within South Armagh remain committed to making the roads safer and reducing the number of people killed on our roads.  During the last 3 months officers have made 33 arrests for motoring offences and have removed 29 uninsured vehicles from the roads within the sector.

In partnership with the Community Safety Partnership, officers from South Armagh NPT assisted in the provision of a safer driving scheme for young motorists to help educate young people and enhance safe driving.
