Fermanagh South

Fermanagh South Neighbourhood team is responsible for policing Lisnaskea and in addition the following areas Maguiresbridge, Brookborough,  Cooneen, Tempo, Clabby,  Rosslea, Magheraveely, Newtownbutler and Donagh.  

In the recent Policing with the Community Awards, Lisnaskea Neighbourhood Team came second overall and Const Derek Friel received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

When not on duty all officers have there mobile phones switched over directly to the Call Handling Centre in Omagh where you can leave a message to be contacted.  Alternatively you can forward an email to your local Neighbourhood team.

Lisnaskea Station opening hours:   08:00 – Midnight. In addition the Police mobile Unit will visit each village in your area on a weekly  basis.  Villages which the mobile unit currently visit are, Maguiresbridge, Tempo, Brookborough and Clabby.

You can get involved with helping us to make your neighbourhood safer. Tell us the issues that you think need to be addressed by attending one of our local partnership meetings.  Contact your neighbourhood officer for more details of where and when your next meeting will take place.

Anti-Social behaviour and Under-age drink main street Lisnaskea

Under-age drinking is always an ongoing issue,: hotspots include the Cattle Market, the rear of Armstrong's Chemist, Erne tackle, and Jordan's car park. In addition the play park in Maguiresbridge is also worthy of police attention. Alcohol has been seized on numerous occasions and disposed off. Local NPT also ran a 5 day CHOICES anti ASB initiative with 14- 16 year olds in the area. Local police are continuing to monitor.


"Difin" on the Concession road, Newtownbutler.

Regular PSNI and Garda enforcement ops (both joint and separate). Local NPT/RPU have carried out a number of operations, with the PSNI helicopter deployed on a number of occasions.

Plain clothes patrol of the area by the local NPT.

Joint safety education event with PSNI/Garda at Rally school of Ireland, .involving teenagers. Local NPT attended to highlight the issues on the Concession road..

An article for the media was also forwarded for inclusion in the local papers on both sides of the border warning of the penalties to those involved in this activity


Complaint of speeding Drumgoon Rd Maguiresbridge near a primary school.

Display LED trailer sign warning motorists to slow down. In addition Roads Policing Units have continued to carry out speeding operations in the Maguiresbridge area. These ops are ongoing

Anti social behaviour; Drumgoon Road / Maguiresbridge Village; Eggs thrown at cars and laser pens directed at drivers

Increased patrols of the area, in high visibility uniform and vehicles and plain clothes as well

Anti social behaviour; Lisnagole Road / Maguiresbridge Main Street. Youths entering vacant properties and underage drinking

Foot patrols of the riverbank and checks on vacant or insecure properties. Regular checks of local licenced premises. Pro active engagement with local youths, whilst on patrol, in order to highlight the issue

The Fermanagh South Neighbourhood Team work in partnership with the Community Police Liaison Committee which convenes every two months.

We also work in partnership with the following groups:

  • Mountview Lisnaskea Neighbourhood Watch.
  • Carrowshee Park Lisnaskea residents association.
  • Trasna Way Lisnaskea Residents association.
  • Lisnaskea community and Tourism committee.
  • Tempo/Maguiresbridge/Brookborough Development Associations.
