Welcome note from Chief Superintendent Martin
Most of us are now well settled into the new year and looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in 2012.
At this time of year we are consulting you the public through District Policing Partnerships and local representatives on the areas where you feel we should be focusing our resources and energy. Every area within G District is different and we do our best to tailor our service to suit the communities we serve.
No matter what those priorities are we remain committed to delivering a personal, professional and protective service that everyone can have confidence in.
This year we will begin reporting back to you on how we measure up against the Policing Commitments we made to you last year. Until then it might interest you to know that the number of assaults, burglary and criminal damage incidents in our District have decreased. Your officers are also making good use of the Discretionary Disposal scheme for dealing with minor crimes. This ensures a faster outcome can be achieved for victims and allows officers to spend more time out in communities. Feedback on this process has been extremely positive.
I would also strongly encourage anyone who shares an interest in keeping our streets and neighbourhoods safe to explore the various opportunities that exist to engage with your local police. Communities shape our police service and we welcome your contribution and ideas.
On this site you can find out more about the officers that work in your area and how you can contact them and get more involved in community life.
Thank you for your continued support.
Chief Superintendent Stephen Martin
District Commander
