Ballymena PACT Update April 2012

We Did

We are concerned about increases in Hate Crime in Ballymena South Police increased patrols in the area and a number of arrests were made and stringent bail conditions set.  There have been no further crimes since november and hopefully these measures have made a difference.

Anti-Social Behaviour / Adult Street Drinking & Graffiti Town Centre

Together we worked closely with the Community Safety Partnership clean neighbourhood scheme to get any reported graffiti quickly removed.  Joint patrol held with Haryville Partnership, Police, Council and CCTV representatives to identify areas of concern.  Police approached persons believed to be drinking and encouraged them to seek medical help for addiction.  Reports remain low at one or two per month.

Anti-Social Behaviour Galgorm was a priority.

Underage drinking has continued in the area - Police maintained high levels of patrols with young people detected drinking and taken home.  Many of the young people are from outside the area - parents - if your child tells you they are visiting friends in Galgorm on Fri & Sat nights - do you know what they are up to???
