We Did

We are concerned about anti social behaviour in the Mount Street Area

During the past few months Police have increased patrols and neighbourhood officers have also been briefed to carry out patrols in these areas. Neighborhood officers with the support of other uniform colleagues have carried out a number of searches and made a number of arrests for drugs offences. We are also working in partnership with Coleraine Borough Council be reduce levels of noise nuisance and are seeking to bring before the courts persistent offenders.

We are concerned about the levels of anti social behaviour in Bushmills Road areaWe have increased our beat and bicycle patrols in the area and installed a CCTV camera system in the area. We have engaged with residents and young people in the area. A number of alcohol seizures have been and young persons reported to the Youth Diversion Officer. We are continuing to work with partners and residents in order to improve the amenities in the area. This is a longer term project which we will seek to bring together both residents and other partner agencies

We are concerned about youths gathering at the Translink Station, Coleraine.

During recent months we have working in partnership with Translink to reduce the problem and to provide reassurance to staff and customers. We have agreed a joint protocol on how the deal with incidents of anti social behaviour, police carry out regular high visiblity patrols of the area and a number of persons have been arrested for public order offences. Police and Translink staff now have a direct line of communication in line with the Town Centre Radio Link scheme. We also engage with the young people who would have congregated in the area in order to allow them to realsie the effect thier behaviour has on other members of the community using the premises.
