Ballycastle

| Ballycastle covers the town of Ballycastle, Ballyvoy and the surrounding countryside. The population of this area is approximately 7,000. It has a very active harbour area, with fishing vessels, pleasure craft and a daily service to Rathlin and a regular service to Cambletown. The town has numerous leisure facilities including tennis courts (the only remaining grass courts in the country), all weather pitches, Gaelic pitches, football pitches and of course our famous coastline and beaches. There are also leisure facilities available at Council offices on Mary Street which are open to the public. Ballycastle has a library, medical centre and a hospital, but not an emergency department. The Emergency Department is at Coleraine. The town centre has many family businesses with a very active Chamber of Commerce. |
