Assault Hilltown

A 21-year-old man was arrested last night (Thursday 1 January) and later released on bail pending report to the PPS in connection with an assault in the Hilltown area of Newry on New Year’s Eve. A 19-year-old man received facial and back injuries.
The incident occurred between 11.30pm and 11.50pm on New Year's Eve when an altercation began in a hotel on Main Street and continued out on the street. A broken bottle was used in the attack on the victim. He was taken to hospital and later discharged.
