Stabbing in Ladbrooke Drive

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed early this morning (Friday 2 January) in Ladbrook Drive in the Oldpark area of north Belfast.
He and a friend were on foot at the bottom of Ladbrook Drive at around 1.20am when a man approached them close to the junction of Ladbrook Drive and Berwick Street. A conversation took place and the victim was stabbed from behind in the abdomen.
He was taken to hospital where his injuries, though serious, are not believed to be life threatening.
The attacker is described as about 5ft 4ins tall, with black hair and wearing black jeans and jumper.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the attack or who has any information about it is asked to contact police in north Belfast on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information may be given via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
