Assault, Derry

Police in Foyle are investigating an assault on a couple on Waterloo Street in Londonderry sometime between 12.15am and 1am on Monday 5 January.
The male victim was attacked by a man with a baton-type weapon and had to receive treatment in hospital for injuries to his head and face. The woman was pushed to the ground.
The culprit then made off in a car thought to be a Volkswagen Passat.
