Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following the recovery of a viable pipe bomb device from outside a property in the Fairyknowe park area shortly after midnight on Tuesday 6 January.
Following a telephoned warning, Fairyknowe Park was cordoned off whilst Army Technical Officers examined the device and later removed it for further examination.
A motive for the incident remains under investigation and detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Fairyknowe Park area late yesterday evening and noticed anything untoward to come forward.
