Police in west Belfast are appealing for information after an incident of serious sexual assault.
A 16-year-old girl was walking in the area of Springfield Road at its junction with Springfield Drive around 9pm last night, when an unknown male assaulted her in an alleyway in Springfield Drive.
The investigation is at a very early stage, and police are appealing for anyone who was in the Springfield Drive area near Springfield Road last night between 8:00pm and 10:00pm to contact them on 0845 600 8000. There are no further details available on this incident - when we have more we will let you know. At this stage no interviews are planned.
