Firearms incident, Strabane

Detectives in Strabane are appealing for information after a man was forced to hand over a number of legally held firearms close to a chapel in the Castlefin area of County Donegal on the night of January 21.
It is understood two masked men entered a house in the Castlegrange area of Strabane and stayed with the man's girlfriend and their child while he went to retrieve the firearms before driving to Castlefin. The masked men left the house in a white Vauxhall Astra belonging to the victim that was later found abandoned in County Donegal.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Castlegrange area between 9pm and 10pm is asked to telephone police on 0845 600 8000. Similarly anyone who could help trace the movements of the white Vauxhall Astra is also asked to contact police or the 'Crimestoppers' charity on 0800 555 111.
