Armed Robbery, Hawthorn Grove, Carrickfergus

Detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Carrickfergus on Tuesday 3rd March.

At approximately 9.10pm it was reported a male armed with what appeared to be a handgun had entered the store at Hawthorn Grove. The male gathered three members of staff and one customer in a storeroom and demanded money from the safe.

It's understood he made off with a sum of cash.

The robber is described as between 5' 8" and 6' tall of a medium build. He was wearing a black balaclava, a white coloured hoody with the hood pulled up, a dark coat, jeans and white trainers. He was also carrying a black satchel type bag and spoke with a local accent.
