Detectives in Newcastle, County Down, are appealing for information about an assault.
At around 1.30am on Wednesday 18th March, a 19 year old man was walking close to the junction of Castlewellan Road and Dunwellan with two friends when he was approached by a number of males.
The 19 year old man was assaulted and was taken to hospital with head and facial injuries which were understood to be serious but not life-threatening.
On Thursday 19th March, an 18 year old male and 19 year old male were arrested. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
