Robbery, Market Street, Downpatrick

Detectives in Downpatrick are appealing for witnesses following a robbery which occurred in the town on Thursday 2nd April.
At approximately 5pm a man in his 50s was approached by a youth close to the bookmakers at Market Street.
The youth demanded money from the victim before pushing him to the ground and assaulting him. The youth made off with a sum of cash in the direction of Patrick's Avenue.
The robber is believed to have been wearing a blue and white striped top and gloves. He also had a scarf pulled up over his face.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has any other information relating to it is asked to contact Downpatrick CID by calling 0845 600 8000. Detectives are particularly keen to speak to a woman who is believed to have been in the area at the time, as well as a number of passing motorists who may have witnessed the incident.
