Serious assault, James Street, Cookstown

Police are investigating the serious assault of a 31-year-old male following an incident in the James Street area of Cookstown in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 19 April.
The male was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital and later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital. One man in his early 20's has been arrested and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information and want anyone who was in the James Street area of Cookstown between midnight and 1am this morning to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. There are no further details at present.
