Armed robbery, Rosses Court, Ballymena

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Rosses Court area on Sunday, 2 August.

At approximately 7.10am two males, one of them believed to have a firearm in his possession, approached a male member of staff outside a grocery shop.  They led him into the shop and took a sum of cash, quantity of cigarettes and a mobile phone before making off.

The member of staff was uninjured but left shaken by his ordeal.

The first male was armed with a wooden baton and is described as being approximately 17 years old, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a black tracksuit, grey hat, blue scarf and white trainers.

The second male is described as being approximately 17 years old, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a grey hoodie and a red, white and blue scarf.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the males entering or leaving the shop or has any information relating to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.  Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
