Assault, Bracken Park, Derry

Police are investigating an assault on a man in the Bracken Park area of Derry on Thursday 30 July. The victim was walking along the cycle path around 11pm when he was approached by three males and a female, all described as being in their late teens / early 20s. One of the assailants asked the man for a light. When he said he didn’t smoke he was punched on the head and knocked to the ground where he was further attacked by the group.
The man sustained injuries to his face and upper body and has been left badly shaken by the attack. The males wore hooded tops and jeans while the female wore jeans, a red top and had shoulder length straight hair.
