Assault, North Belfast

Police in North Belfast are appealing for information about an assault at Deerpark Road.

Shortly after 10.45pm on Friday 28 August it was reported that a man aged in his late 30s, who had been walking in the area close to Alliance Crescent, had been assaulted by a number of people, at least one reported to have been armed with a bat.

He was taken to hospital with leg and head injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are working to establish the circumstances and a motive for the incident.
