Cash machine ram raid, Main Street, Fintona

19 Aug 2009

Detectives in Omagh are appealing for information after a cash machine was stolen from a public house in Fintona in the early hours of this morning Wednesday (19).

A car was driven into the building and the machine taken.  The thieves made off with the machine in a second car.  Both of the cars used had been stolen.

A red Vauxhall Astra stolen in Seskinore was crashed into the building, while a silver Vauxhall Corsa that had been stolen in Sixmilecross was used by the thieves to make their getaway.  It has not yet been established how much money, if any, was in the machine.

The incident in Fintona was reported to police at about 4.15am.  The car made off towards Tattymoyle Road, and has not yet been recovered.

Anyone with information about the car thefts or the incident at the public house, or becomes aware of a silver Corsa abandoned in the area, is asked to contact the CID in Omagh.  The number to call is 0845 600 8000.  Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
