Man assaulted, Coleraine

A man has been conveyed to hospital following an assault in Coleraine. The incident occurred when a number of masked men brandishing baseball bats forced their way into a house in Cuilrath Street around 10:00 pm on Tuesday August 11.
Once inside the house they singled out a man and beat him. The man managed to escape, but the gang followed him to a neighbouring house where they assaulted him for a second time. The injured man is understood to have suffered a broken leg and puncture wounds to both legs.
Detectives at Coleraine, who have not yet established a motive for the assault, are anxious to hear from anyone who noticed the culprits in the area prior to the incident or afterwards as they made off from the scene.
