Shooting incident Derry

Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following a shooting incident in the Hollymount Park area of the city on the evening of Wednesday 19 August.

Shortly after 11pm, a number of shots were fired through the front window of a house in Hollymount.  One 26-year-old man sustained a gun shot wound to his leg and is currently being treated in the hospital where he condition is not thought to be life threatening at this time.  Another 22-year-old man was also present in the house at the time, but was not injured.

Detectives are investigating a motive for the shooting and are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Hollymount Park area late on Wednesday evening and may have witnessed the attack.  CID can be contacted at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000, or information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
