Armed robbery, Newry

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a post office in Drumintee.

At approximately 2.30pm on Tuesday 15 December two masked men entered the premises at New Line. Both had firearms in their possession. The men demanded money from a female member of staff and made off with a sum of cash in a maroon coloured car.

Both males were wearing black jumpers, black trousers, gloves and balaclavas and both spoke with Southern accents.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, noticed a maroon coloured car in the area prior to or after the incident or has information relating to this incident to contact them in Newry on 0845 600 8000.
