Car hijacked, North Belfast
23 Dec 2009
Detectives in North Belfast are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle hijacking last night in the Ardoyne area.
At around 10.20pm on Tuesday 22 December a 40-year-old man was driving his car down Etna Drive when a male stood in front of it near the junction with Strathroy Park and forced the car to stop. A second male got into the passenger side and threatened the driver with a handgun. The driver was ordered to get out and the car was driven off. It was found a few minutes later burnt out at Jamaica Street.
A motive has yet to be established but paramilitary involvement has not been ruled out.
