Cash in Transit robbery, Church Road, Dundonald
19 Dec 2009
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the robbery of a cash in transit van at commercial premises in the Church Road area of Dundonald on Friday 18 December.
The incident was reported just after 1pm. A driver making a delivery to a supermarket reported he had been threatened and robbed by a male brandishing what's thought to have been a knife. The culprit is described as aged in his 20s or 30s; around 6 feet 3 inches tall; with short, dark hair; wearing a white hooded top with a black stripe across the shoulders and down the inside of the arms; dark bottoms and a hat with flaps covering the ear area. He got into the passenger seat of a waiting metallic blue coloured Renault Megane car driven by a second male. That car was found abandoned a short time later in the area of Canberra Park where the two males got into a dark coloured vehicle driven by a third male.
Detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for witnesses and information. They want anyone who was in the Church Road area of Dundonald or the area of Canberra Park between 12.45pm and 1.45pm and who may have witnessed the incident, seen a number of males acting unusually or observed any waiting vehicles in the vicinity to get in touch on 0845 600 8000, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
