Attempted ATM theft, Keady

Police in Armagh are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM machine from a bank in the Main Street area of Keady.
The incident was reported to police shortly after 3:00am this morning (Wednesday 9 December). A digger was used to ram the front of the building and an attempt was made to remove the machine, however the thieves made off empty handed in a silver Peugeot 406. The car was later discovered by the Garda burnt out in Castlebaney.
Police were quickly at the scene and discovered the safe in the rubble of building. Investigations are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact them at Armagh on 0845 600 8000.
