Criminal damage and paramilitary style attack, South Belfast

11 Dec 2009

Detectives in Musgrave Street are appealing for information following two incidents of criminal damage and a paramilitary style attack in the Fortuna Street and Daphne Street areas of South Belfast last night (Thursday 10 December).

Shortly after 7:30pm four unknown males entered the home of a 28 year old man in the Fortuna Street area.  They beat him with a hammer, and sticks, smashed windows and painted slogans on the walls.  The man managed to get away and ran to a friend’s home.

And shortly after 8pm a number of windows were broken at a property in Daphne Street and slogans painted on the wall.

A motive for the attacks has yet to be established; however a link between the two incidents is one definite line of enquiry.
