Hijacking, South Belfast
30 Dec 2009
Detectives are investigating a hijacking in South Belfast.
Shortly before 9pm on Tuesday 29 December a woman aged in her 20s had just stepped into a parked blue Ford Focus car at Malone Avenue when she was approached by a man.
The man, who gestured that he had a gun, opened the car door and told the woman to get out of the vehicle. She did so and the car was then stolen.
The thief was around 5ft 8 tall and had a dark hooded jumper pulled over his face. A second male may also have been involved.
The Focus car is distinctive in that one of the alloy wheels had been replaced with a black steel wheel. The rear windows are tinted.
Anyone with information, who witnessed suspicious activity or may have seen the car should contact detectives on 0845 600 8000, alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
