Theft of ATM machine, Green Road, Bessbrook

Detectives in Newry are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM machine from a filling station on the Green Road in Bessbrook.
The incident was reported to police shortly before 7am on Sunday morning, 13 December. A digger was used to ram the side of the building in an attempt to remove the machine. Damage was caused to the wall however the ATM was not removed.
Police, who responded to the incident within minutes, found a Caterpillar digger with its engine still running and a Nissan flatbed, both abandoned by the thieves.
Investigations are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who was on the Green Road or the Camlough Road between 6am and 7am on Sunday morning, anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has information to contact detectives at Newry on 0845 600 8000.
